How to Not Let Regrets Take Control of Your Life

There’s nothing worse than feeling stuck because you’ve done something wrong or worrying when you made the wrong choice. So, concerning regret and all the fantastically crappy feelings that come with it, here’s what has worked to get me through:

Step 1, Forgive Yourself:

You can’t heal until you acknowledge that you are human and mistakes are normal.

Step 2, Understand That You’re Not a Fortune Teller:

No one can predict the future— you could not have predicted how things would turn out. Even if you took path A instead of path B, you have no idea all the ways it would have affected your life.

Step 3, Realize That Life is More Complicated Than
it Looks:

There’s more to people’s awesome lives than what shows on the surface. Who knows, you may be doing way better than you think you are!

Step 4, Know That You Have Time:

You likely have decades left to accomplish your dreams. Don’t give up on your ideal life just because you’ve hit a few roadblocks!

Step 5, Learn From It:

You can turn a negative into a positive by learning from the situation. What was the reasoning behind your actions? What mistakes do you now know to avoid in the future?

Step 6, Choose Health:

Part A: Be present in the moment. Try to let go of things you can’t control— that includes the past!

Part B: Focus on the positive things about your life— appreciate what you have.

Step 7, Adopt a New Mantra, “I Am Not in My Final
Form Yet”:

There are ways in which you will grow you just don’t know about yet, and amazing things are coming that you can’t see from here! It’s all going to be just fine.

  1. Hi there just wanted to give you a quick heads up.
The text in your post seem to be running off the screen in Chrome.
I’m not sure if this is a formatting issue or something to do with internet
browser compatibility but I thought I’d post to let
you know. The style and design look great though! Hope you
get the issue solved soon. Thanks
